Program Description:

Horizons at St. Richard’s Episcopal School is a six-week, tuition-free, full-day summer program designed to inspire students. Horizons focuses on the whole child. We help students learn and grow through classroom time focused on literacy and math instruction, project-based learning, field trips, swim instruction, enrichments, social-emotional learning, and community building. Horizons’ mission is to address education equity and the opportunity gap that some children face due to systemic barriers. Horizons works with students who qualify for free and reduced lunches. We provide a small group setting (15 students per class level). Our approach creates an environment that fosters a love of learning and the academic and social skills essential for students to thrive. Our program has a 75%+ student return rate & a 90% attendance rate.

We are looking for dedicated, creative-thinking educators who seek a unique opportunity to teach in a relational environment where learning is fun. Each grade level centers on a learning theme. Teachers are provided with resources to help guide their summer but also have autonomy to build lessons to meet the interests and needs of their students. Candidates must be data-driven, results-oriented, strong classroom managers, adaptable, collaborative, and willing to think outside of the box.
